About Us
ODC Productions was initially
founded in Seattle Washington in 1986 by Oscar Danilo Chaparro
an avid songwriter and harmonica player taking harmonica
lessons at the time from blues man Dick
Powell. Oscar would sit in with several local blues
bands including “Astral Traveler” in the Pioneer
Square district. He would also frequent the "Red Cabbage"
a local restaurant where he met future New Age star David
Lanz. David held an impromptu ‘open mic’
on Thursday nights where Oscar would sit-in on harmonica
and occasionally on piano. Oscar began taking piano lessons
from David and one day after a lesson a jam ensued where
Oscar’s first demo was born: a rhythm and blues song
"August Moon of 1957". Oscar would also play original
compositions on piano with fellow musician Mikel T. Rollins
at many wedding receptions and would write, produce and
perform on several more demo tracks that ultimately became
known as the "Mother's
Day Serenade" project.
In December of 1988 Oscar took on a job with Essential Software
in the San Fernando Valley and moved ODC Productions to
Los Angeles where he set up a small music studio. During
that time Oscar would continue taking piano lessons with
several piano teachers and occasionally sit in with the
Chris
Ho Band. While living in the Antelope Valley Oscar
took a job with local television station KPAL Television
producing a local talk show. He also decided to return to
school full time to broaden his skills as a multimedia producer
while taking on several assignments in both multimedia technology
as well as multimedia production. During this time he attended
countless seminars, workshops, certification programs and
colleges. In 1995 Oscar attended and completed a Recording
Engineer Certificate Program at Sound
Master Audio Video Institute under recording legend
Brian Ingoldsby. Oscar continued taking piano lessons with
Gina Felicetta as well as with piano great Mark
Massey. He studied under author and voice teacher Gloria
Bennett and continued refining his harmonica skills
by studying the works of and attending a seminar by harmonica
pioneer Lee
Oskar as well as lessons from Los Angeles based harmonica
virtuoso Dave
Gage.
We are currently working on
several projects which are at various stages of production
and continue to seek out new acts to assist in producing
broadcast quality demo packages...
